Rahmen aufgespannt ist, wird zuerst mit dem Pinsel die Form und die Farbe
aufgetragen. Dann wird auf die nasse Farbe sofort grobes Badesalz und feines
Kochsalz gestreut. Das Salz zieht die Farbe an; daraus ergeben sich Muster
und Strukturen. Dann wird die nächste Farbe um den ersten Kreis aufgetragen und
wieder Salz gestreut – beginnend in der Mitte geht das Malen in gleichförmige
Kreise nach aussen. Dies geht weiter bis das Tuch ganz ausgemalt – und das
Salz trocken ist. Am Schluss wird das Salz weggenommen.
Die Föhntechnik
Auf
das aufgespannte Tuch wird mit einem Pinsel eine Linie gemalt. Soll der Streifen
nicht breiter werden, wird er mit einem Haarföhn getrocknet. Dann wird mit
einer nächsten Farbe - gerade
neben dem ersten ein zweiter
gemalt. Weil der erste Streifen ganz trocken ist, stösst die nasse Farbe die
trockene Farbe weg, was Ränder und damit Abgrenzungen gibt. Dann wird auch
dieser Streifen mit dem Haarföhn getrocknet. So geht es weiter bis das ganze
Tuch fertig ist!
The
Salt technique
When the silk is fixed to a frame I first paint the form with the colour
that I choose. Then while it is still wet I spread bath salts and finer cooking
salt onto it. The salt attracts and
intensifies the colours and the patterns and forms emerge.
Then I paint the next colour around the first centre circle and again put
salt onto it. Beginning in the middle I paint regular circles moving outwards,
this continues until the whole silk square is full of patterns and forms. As
soon as the salt is dry I brush it off the silk.
The Hair
drying technique
When
the silk is fixed on the frame I paint a line with the paint brush.
If I don’t want this to become wider I immediately dry it with the hair
dryer. Then I paint the next line
with the next colour right up against the first line. Because the original line
is very dry the wet one coalesces pushing the
dry one away
and boundaries emerge. I also dry this line with the hair
dryer. This continues with different colours until the whole silk creation is
complete.
